Hello Lactnetters! My name is Nathalie and I have been lurking on this list for several months now. I thought it was finally time for an introduction. I live in north-eastern Maine and I am the proud nursing mom of a 2 year old boy. I am the chairperson of our local breastfeeding coalition, and one of the hats I wear for work is giving breastfeeding support to first-time and teen moms. Unfortunately we have a lot of barriers to break through around here as formula feeding is truly the engrained method of baby feeding here. Also, because of some "extra money" left over from a grant at my work, my supervisor has signed me and a coworker up to take a Lactation Consultant class through Breastfeeding Support Consultants in Illinois. My materials should be arriving in about 6 weeks and I am eager to get started. Ultimately, years down the line, I aspire to become an IBCLC. But right now I just have to start small :-) I have learned a lot in the time I've been lurking. This list is wonderful!
