Winnie,
Thank you for sharing with us this fine way of educating new moms AND hcp's
as well. I often notice that, although in their pre-educating comments hcp's
I am to train ask for science, facts and thelike, they give the most
positive feedback on anecdotical examples and comparisons like yours. I
think I'll quote this one often in future classes when discussing feeding on
request (as we in Dutch call demand-feeding) and infant feeding cues.

By the way, this quotatation of an ancient Dutch poetrist is not meant to
offend all those mothers who wanted to nurse their children, but had, for
circumstances sake, to nourish and nurture them otherwise and did do a good
job doing so. I do appologize if I unintendedly did harm anyones feelings.
