I just had a client who reported that her breasts did get larger during pregnancy and her areolas did not get darker.  Does the areolas not getting darker mean anything in relation to milk production?  Any studies anywhere?

Also, her milk production is seriously low.  (And I just realized that PP edema is kind of like wearing an breast binder, except that it's internal.)  How often does it happen that the mom's milk production goes from 15% of what baby needs to over 80%?  She's doing all the right things.
