Parade magazine, a supplement to many Sunday papers in the United
States, published an article on medical myths today 27 Nov 05, p. 14).
On the first page I was pleased to see the following:
Myth: Mothers who smoke should formula-feed, not breast-feed, their
babies.
Fact: Wrong! If you're a smoker and can't or won't quit, it's better to
breast-feed than to formula-feed your baby. Breast milk more effectively
protects an infant's lungs against the smoke than does the formula.
