surely this could have happened any where any time. It is more prone to
happen to a prems (twins) at that gestation K35 and so lucky it happened in
hospital where the baby was able to be resuscitated. lucky the babies were
being fed human milk so if there was any aspiration the high risk of lung
complications eg pneumonia with collapsed lung did not eventuate. there are
other things to look at here. it was not your fault.

I don't know enough about law suits and the like to comment further but
from a nursing midwifery IBCLC point of view this can happen and that is why
the babies are in hospital until they are feeding competently without bradys
and the mother is handling them well and comfortable with managing them and
their feeding.

You can reassure the parents that the babies will have a better chance of
excellent brain development and intelligence if they continue to receive
human milk. You can also inform them that a baby who may be susceptible to
bradycardia or respiratory problems will receive significant benefits re
stabilization by being in skin to skin contact with a human being ie mother
or father or other family member or human.
