This would be the theorized effect of parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme and
any other herbs, lowering milk output.
Interesting note from Winnie Mading.
I can think of another explanation in both the cases Winnie mentioned.
Mothers eating candy mints like popcorn, why are they doing so? Are they
too busy to eat meals, and experiencing low blood sugar which they are
treating palliatively with mints? Could this not be a sign that there is
too much going on, which we know can compromise milk supply?

Same with Thanksgiving, which in addition to sage in the stuffing is
characterized by traveling some distances to attend large family gatherings,
waiting for ages for the big dinner and subsisting on carrot and celery
sticks or worse meanwhile, OR alternatively HOSTESSING large family
gatherings etc. etc. And I will do no more than mention the TV football
game factor.

Mothers here often perceive a drop in milk supply (more crying in baby,
wanting to nurse often and being unhappy afterwards) the week before the
baby is to be christened, which resembles Thanksgiving in some of the
practical consequences of the occasion. That's why I launch this
alternative explanation.
