On the "bm" meaning breastmilk (vs. bowel movement) - ME TOO! Drives me
nuts - must be just those years of hospital nursiness coming out.
I abbreviate EBM - expressed breast milk. I like the MOM (mother's own
milk), but it wouldn't work for donor milk - well, it's somebody's mother's
milk, but not necessarily THE mother's.
Another abbreviation gripe, although it usually is quickly discernible by
context: BF to mean "boyfriend" (instead of "breastfeed"). To me, FOB =
father of baby (granted, not always the same as the boyfriend, but when
that's the case there's usually plenty of context to make it clear). As in a
chart note "...wants BF x 6 weeks, then will switch form". What? she wants
her boyfriend for 6 weeks, then plans to "switch"? to what?
