I've stopped giving samples of Lansinoh, Purelan, Medela breast pads as
well as the Medela brochures on breastfeeding to my students and clients
when I stopped to think about what message those freebies might be
sending:

* Your nipples are going to be sore
* Breastfeeding is a major pain because you MUST pump

I don't think either of those things is true, and I don't want to convey
those messages to my students/clients. In addition, I've had students in
the past get really sore nipples that resolved easily when they stopped
using disposable breast pads. That plastic layer in the pads keeps the
area damp all the time. I also can't think of anything worse than keeping
the areola constantly damp when a mom is battling yeast/thrush.

Cee
