I quite agree here Jack - I'm quite sure that my clipping the tongue
tie in this baby had virtually nothing to do with him deciding to
breastfeed about 10 weeks later!!! Maybe it gave the mother the
psychological boost to keep trying to breastfeed rather than give up,
maybe it didn't make any difference at all. Maybe all that was needed
was 'tincture of time'.
Like Jack, I see many babies with tongue tie who are breastfeeding
really well, and if it ain't broke, I don't fix it - although having
seen the video of Brian Palmer's talk on tongue tie and other oral
anatomical problems, I do wonder.
As for breastmilk popsicles!!! A great idea in hot WA, where it was
40 degrees celcius on Boxing Day.
