Now, now, I'm not telling you to tell the mother the thing is absurd.
But you can remind her not to believe everything she reads in the
newspaper.

We are always in such positions. Just as the newspaper article which
says that teenagers do not produce as much milk. Now, lactation
activists, prove to me it's not true. Find the articles, go ahead.
Otherwise I will advise all teenage mothers not to breastfeed.

Let's stop being so meek. As a matter of fact, I *would* have told
the mother that the report is absurd. I would also have told her that
if she wants to stop breastfeeding, she should go ahead, but she won't
get an excuse from me. I would have told her that breastfeeding was
better for her and her baby, that she should wait a few weeks until
breastfeeding is getting easy before she makes the fateful decision,
and nobody's going to jump down your throat if you do. But please
stop looking for excuses.
