Living in Florida has taught me more about yeast and treating it than I ever
wanted to know, however many physicians in our area  are not familiar with
dosage or timeframes for treatment of mothers using Diflucan.The only
reference I could find in print was from K. Hoover. Is anyone familiar with
others?
I really need imput from other MD's who have used this sucessfully. One case
I worked with had been misdiagnosed for four months and need more than a
little (or even a LOT of) topical treatment. The doctor wrote her a script
for three weeks before it cleared up - is this too much?  Also we now have
ped practices using the diflucan for infants rather than the nystatin- it
seems much easier and more effectice. So what is the bad news? What concerns
should we have with mother or baby?
I only have tylonal in my medicine cabinet and always went the natural way
whenever possible with my little ones. I feel really strange going for what I
consider "the big gun" but see too many mothers throw in the towel if the
pain goes on too long.
