Ok, JK: (how 'bout Falafel-Judy?...sorry)

I always tell the mother to avoid coffee, black, tea, cola drinks (I didn't
mention brand names, folks) and chocolate. All for the stimulants they
contain.
I have always included choco. on the list, as do most Drs. here, but can't
site the study that proved this true. I'll start looking. However, if a
mother is really hooked on coffee, tea or chocolate, I go for the
moderation approach rather than totally prohibiting any of these
aforementioned substances.
I'd rather have her nursing happily and enjoying a couple cups of java or a
few chocolate kisses a day, than to give her a selfish 'I need my coffee
and so will wean' excuse to quit.

Did you all know that Chocolate was one of the wonderful gifts that Mexico
gave the world (the Nahuatl/Aztec word is chocolatl). (along with chiles,
tomato, potato, the poinsetta red 'Christmas flower', vanilla, avocado and
many other goodies that we enjoy today.)
Chocolate was a beverage enjoyed by the ancient inhabitants of the New
World and the cocoa beans were so highly prized that they were used an
currency among the traders in native markets, prior to the arrival of the
Spaniards in the 16th Century.

Just a little history.
