Ah, yes - we also recommend salty sitz baths in South Africa for mum's
perineum - or she is encouraged to put a handful of course salt into her
bath tub.  Again, I believe that research does not support this.

My daughter gave birth recently in Toronto - she was in the tub a couple of
hours after birth (missed out before birth!)  and co-bathed with baby at
home the next day.  Her midwives didn't seem to have any issue with that.
(Maybe they were wary of grandma??)
