Thank you everyone for your answers on lactose intolerance.  It is a sunny winters morning "down under" here in New Zealand and I am so delighted to have these answers to work through today.

I neglected to mention that this is definitely not an over supply issue.  This mum has always had to work at her supply but has got there with patience and perseverance.  Her baby boys are slim, active wee things who think too much sleep is a waste of busy time!
