Greetings!
One thought on this issue!   In my back yard I have five colonies and
six nucs, and have had two hummingbird feeders for years.  We almost
NEVER see a bee on them, not a single one this whole year.

On the other hand, yellow jackets come in droves, and will face off in
flight with the hummingbird(s)...In fact I saw this happen today, and
the YJ won, drove the hummer off!    This is here in Alabama.  I would
first observe this action and be prepared to teach some people the
difference between the two insects.    Now number two:  A neighbor
called me about  this problem a block down the street....I went right
over and there were  yellow jackets all over her  feeders, not a
single honeybee!
