Greetings! One thought on this issue! In my back yard I have five colonies and six nucs, and have had two hummingbird feeders for years. We almost NEVER see a bee on them, not a single one this whole year. On the other hand, yellow jackets come in droves, and will face off in flight with the hummingbird(s)...In fact I saw this happen today, and the YJ won, drove the hummer off! This is here in Alabama. I would first observe this action and be prepared to teach some people the difference between the two insects. Now number two: A neighbor called me about this problem a block down the street....I went right over and there were yellow jackets all over her feeders, not a single honeybee!
