>>It has been my experience that it is almost impossible to remove propolis >>from clothing. I used to wash and dry covealls and ruin my wife's clothing >>occassionally. Then I switched to a wash and hang routine and have not had >>any problems. I simply hang coveralls to dry. If they do not dry fast >>enough for you to wear then buy more coveralls. According to my chemical handbook, propolis is completely dissolvable in ethyl alcohol --- and I have found that to be true. It should not be too hard to find denatured alcohol, the higher the concentration, the better. For bad stains of various kinds, I soak the material in BIZ solution (commercial laundry pre-soak and bleach available in grocery stores) overnight in a bucket, wring (or spin out) the solution the next day, and then put it through a general wash cycle. BIZ has even taken out India ink. Adrian *************************************************************** * Adrian Wenner E-Mail [log in to unmask] * * Dept.Ecol.,Evol.,& Mar.Biol.
