From: Art Halstead, VA Beekeeper March 1 & 2, 1996 North Carolina State Beekeepers Association Annual Spring meeting in Raleigh, NC. Wake County Agricultural Center NCSBKA along with UNC runs a Master Beekeeping program consisting of four increasing difficult levels, each attained by three areas of examination, (written, practical field examination, and public service). Field exam is having you open up a live hive and explain what you see now and what is should look like in the fall or winter. Public service credits are earned by being an officer in a local bee club, giving a bee related demo at a meeting, getting positive exposure in the local news media, etc. Learning sessions are held on site prior to convening spring and summer meetings. NO FEE.
