In fact this is a big part of the problem. I have found that out in the field (literally a field, like a prairie) there often is no shade for some distance, I and my hands are hot and sweaty, there is no level place to put anything nor anywhere to store it except hanging from your body where it bangs around as you walk and I don't have to go very far before it is impractical to return to my car. This doesn't bother <me> but it doesn't sound like good conditions under which to collect oodles of specimens and expect to get them home in decent shape. Is there some vital piece of equipment other people are using to solve these problems? Liz Day University of Illinois at Chicago [log in to unmask]
