This cracks me up. This week we have dismissed Seeley, Ellis & Ellis, Gerry Hayes, Erickson, Ingmar Fries -- not to mention Marla Spivak and countless others who are no doubt sadly mistaken in their understanding of basic bee biology. On the other hand, we have the author of "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Beekeeping" touting the old small cell chestnuts

> I read this book after having read Beekeeping for Dummies and The Backyard Beekeeper. This book contained very little new information, and put an overdue emphasis on small cell beekeeping. The latter is a controversial issue among beekeeping experts, as there is little scientific literature supporting the conclusions in the book about the effectiveness of small cell beekeeping to keep varroa at bay. I would have preferred a more detailed discussion of non-hard chemical treatments for varroa instead, following scientifically conducted tests on the subject. -- Amazon review
