This is one of the problems with natural drop--in order to use it to predict
the total mite population, you need to use a multiplier, which varies
greatly depending upon the amount of brood and the season.  That is why I
attempted to work such a conversion into my Excel spreadsheet, by scouring
the literature for actual data in which natural drop was compared to
measured total mite populations.  You may find it useful...
