Someone asked me:

> In your world, for every 100 pounds of honey extracted in a commercial operation, about how many pounds of beeswax cappings are captured?

I answered:

> That is varaible and depends entirely on how a beekeeper uncaps and how deep.

> If there is granulation or uneven comb, beekeepers uncap more deeply. Otherwise, much less so.

> The amount of wax depends on season and time of the year as well. Some seasons, we have few cappings and others, the bees have capped everything by the time we extract.

Does anyone have any numbers?
