I started this thread pointing to the wiki definitions of Pest and Parasite. The point I think is based on the "name of the beast" : small HIVE beetle; and that it is not in Chile so far. On the talks I have had with our Ag autorithies / technitians they tend to think it will only damage the HIVES and SHB can not live if there are no hives, therefore they want to clasify it as a Hive parasite.
