Hi all

A friend of mine told the story of visiting a brand new honey house where the guy had put in skylights with windows that opened up, allowing the bees to escape out the top. My friend said it was the stupidest thing he had seen. All those bees loaded up with honey fly back home and tell all their friends where to get the free eats.

Instead, he gassed the hot room at the end of the day. For any stragglers that came along, that was the end of the ride. Of course, most folks don't gas their hot rooms on a regular basis. However, a bug zapper works and is a common feature in honey houses. Nothing worse than clouds of bees outside trying to get in, so anything that deters that is probably a good thing.
