Yes, but I doubt if that would be the cause of the difference reported.
Though I was given no measurements, the beekeeper emphasised they were a
lot smaller than the strains found even a few miles away. He seemed to
think they were A.m.m. - perhaps a Scottish variant, peculiar to that
glen. The strain was not preserved as the bees were moved elsewhere.
