Arborist(CT.)and a beekeeper(sometimes unsuccessful) since the 70's.I agree with you
100%,never seen honey bees kill a tree.    But.....honey bees live in a cavity and
tree cavities increase the potential for tree failure.It sounds like this person
should consult a treeman in addition to a beeman.
