I see skunks of all ages around the yard and drinking at our pond, yet we
seldom see much scratching at the hives.

Peter:
We do everything we can to prevent bears from molesting the hives (electric
fence at every yard) but I don't have a clue how to prevent skunk damage
unless it were to put some kind of guards on all 200 hives (we're going to
300 this year). I have just accepted skunk damage and the resultant annoyed
bees. In the "good old days" beekeepers put strychnine tablets on the
landing boards. Any ideas -- aside from moving to England?
