Subject: [BEE-L] Sick Bumblebees

I checked out the photograph posted by Peter Edwards, at
www.stratford-upon-avon.freeserve.co.uk/Images/SickBumblebees.jpg
and wonder if maybe the yellow stuff is egg yolk from a broken egg?

It certainly doesn't look like any insect dysentery I've ever witnessed,
although we don't have bumblebees here.
