QUEEN INTRODUCTION.: If you're in a hurry, put the queen in a cardboard (NOT wooden!) matchbox with the lid opened slightly but not quite enough for her to escape or workers to get in and place it in the brood box of the queenless hive, aligned so she can be released.
If you have the time, take a chair and put it next to the hive. Place the matchbox with the queen on the alighting board with the entrance opened as described. Sit and watch as the workers discover her, chew away the cardboard so they can get in and cuddle her and continue chewing until the can escape the box and walk into the hive, taking over the regal role.
