When giving combs with dead bees to a colony to clean up, the best advice IMO is to wait until the colony is strong and conditions are good before doing so. It is inadvisable to give package bees anything but your best brood combs to start.

Later, they will clean up combs with dead bees and mold, wax moth damage and other problems. Such comb, if supplied at first while they are getting established, will slow their development.
