We're getting ready for August workshops here in Newfoundland re. the development of a Varroa Action Plan. What would you recommend as a euthanizing (depopulation) method for Varroa-infested colonies? I see no need to give them the AFB treatment, namely, burn and bury.

I'm concerned that any number of beekeepers will not cooperate with a VAP and/or notify the provincial apiarist of an infested colony if they are faced with equipment destruction and economic loss, etc.
