 My concern for using honey on deep wounds is whether it had been sterilized, to render spores nonviable ; there are products that use sterilized honey for wound application.

Reminds me of a farmer that was admitted to the hospital with a lower leg abscess (which the vascular surgeon lanced). The farmer's home treatment was compresses of cattle dung.
