I will do a post about A.m. cypria later in the week.  It would probably be helpful as well if you look up the following link:

It's a website about Brother Adam and is run by Jean-Marie van Dyck.  At the end of the English section is the book ''Breeding the Honeybee'' and there is some good information about the various races and their characteristics.  My own comments can be taken as supplementary to these.  Also on the website are complete pedigrees for the different Buckfast bee lines which are interesting for anyone interested in bee breeding.
