Dr. Shiminuki spoke about IBDS as above and actually other *at the time*
yet
to be named virus issues .
Parasitic mite syndrome (PMS) was the name "Shim" and the USDA-ARS decided
 on to simplify the issue.

As the above says the name parasitic mite syndrome includes IBDS.

I have came across researchers trying to pick from PMS and make a larger
issue as "Shim" said would happen in his talks many years ago. I attended
four Shiminuki presentations in a single year in 1995.

When IBDS or IAPV
starts killing hives in Australia in a country without varroa it will get my
attention.

For me PMS still fits when varroa is involved. I have observed plenty of
IBDS but always in hives with high varroa load. Nothing new *in my humble
opinion*.
