OK, Charles, maybe you could explain how such a selection plan (killing production queens) would affect the breeding stock and hence future production queens?

I  Have no clue,  that’s why I posed the question!  My genetic thoughts are pretty limited,  not a field that  interest me at the moment.  I just wondered out loud if somehow breeding  queens that "run fast" out of the gate,  instead of living longer could be part of our issue?
