Joe, I had the same problems, and these are especially noticeable when one
does a lot of outdoor markets. For me, the solution was switching to a
cheap color laser printer. Now my mead labels might get dusty in the
cellar, but they are still presentable after three years of aging.

If you get the better quality label paper, your labels will look as good as
the preprinted ones. And the advantages of flexibility and just in time
production make the difference worthwhile.
