I took note of John Chamber’s discussion about protecting locally-adapted stock. Also, I am reminded about how efforts by some beekeepers to develop or protect such stock may be frustrated by beeks who introduce exotic genetics (e.g., see Bob Darrell’s post of 18 Jan. 2019 re. Ireland & concerns by Aberdeen and District Beekeepers’ Association about undermining a breeding program).

Are there any social-psychological data available about the characteristics of the beeks who undermine local breeding programs? Do they have enough in common to constitute a particular demographic or demographics?
