Aaron,

Having a few apiaries situated 50 metres plus a little from different
highways, my observations are that there is a noticeable passage of bees
crossing esp. during nectar flows.
They (the bees) fly a varying heights depending on meteo. conditions.
Locals have commented on seeing bees but mention that few finish up with
their behinds compressing their brains against the windshield!

Losses - presume so, but not to any noticeable extent.
