 Hi,

I live in NY, just north of White Plains. I have some wild bamboo growing on
my property, I found it growing on a small lake near Roscoe, NY and
transplanted it here 10 years ago.I planted it in a wet area. It grows
rather large (up to 8 - 9 feet high)and spreads via the root system.
I have to stay on top of it, or it would take over my yard! In the winter
everything above ground dies. I remove the dead 'bamboo' and in the spring
it grows back to the 8-9 foot height. The bees love it! It flowers in the
late fall, and every bee, bumblebee, and nectar loving insect you can think
of, is at it. The bloom lasts about 2 weeks.
I found the below site, perhaps a good internet search will uncover more
info.
