I'm hearing from other and experiencing myself (5% loss) some of the best stationary survival in years in the upper midwest. Perhaps the weather last season and winter plays a larger role then you realize in your struggle to keep your bees alive.  We have heard on BEEL the claim that losses are cyclical.
