Hmm. Well, to put it in perspective, most of the current inspectors have
worked as employees of commercial beekeepers, some for over 30 years. 

I personally know of one who worked in a bee supply factory from 1975 to
1980; in 1982 he worked for one of the biggest queen breeders in California;
during the 1980s he owned nearly 500 hives and harvested 40,000# of honey,
4000# of bee pollen, and 1000s of queen cells each year until he sold out in
1990. Then he worked at one of the most famous bee labs in the world for
some 6 years. As an inspector, he found over 100 cases of AFB this summer.
Would you trust him, even though he doesn't own any bees these days?
