give them plenty of landmarks to orient.
Some queen breeders paint symbols on the front of their mating nucs, above the entrances. Don't use red, but different colors help as well. And, bees can count up to three, at least that's what I've been told. I think that with the number of mating nucs that were mentioned, disorientation of the mating queens won't be a problem.
