Hi

My wife has gradually developed an immunity to bee stings, and has no
local reaction to stings. She was recently stung on her arm by a bee
from a colony headed by an imported queen from New Zealand. This sting
gave a local reaction as if she was not immune to it.

Is it possible that different sub-species of bees have slightly
different venom make-up, and that it is possible to be immune to some
bee stings, but not to others?

Regards to all
