Ms Larson,
Most of us just delete the spam, don't read it, delete it. Also don't
write to every one on the list. Had an uncle, died in the early 1960's,
never spoke to him when he was sober, but as a salesman all his life he
knew something about people. He was fond of saying, "Little John, most
folks are real nice, decent people, but you will find 6 or 8 real S O
B's, and sometime they bunch up and come at you all at once". Then he
had a vulgar thing to say that meant "ignore them".
I have been B keeping since 1981 and there is always something to learn,
even from another new beekeeper. You are right, read, read, ask
questions, and ask another question. There are two absolutes in B
keeping. They ain't your bees and there are more ways to keep bees than
you can imagine. Learn how to keep Bees that is best for you. You will
have to treat for the Varroa and tracheal mite. These pest can kill a
hive in a very short time.
There are folks out there that will answer your questions. Be selective
to whom you write. Bee a winner!
