This was my guess too, but I couldn't recall where Precher is located.
Illinois?  I wasn't sure if it was in a beetle documented locale or not.
But the description of honey fermented while it was still on the hive
was something I have never encountered in upstate NY.  But I guess it's
just a matter of time.
