What's notable and I predicted this a couple of years ago is Jane Citizen Blogger is getting hip to the fact that there is little difference between Industrial Feedlot poultry, pork, dairy and more now commercial migratory beekeeping practices.

The parallels are obvious.

stock selected for industry needs that may conflict with honeybee health
preventative use of antibiotics
unnatural concentrations animals or in this case bees
use of corn and soy products for supplemental feeding
national organizations shape shifting the unwanted publicity away to other purported bogeymen (Bayer)

Furthermore what's also remarkable is not how much of the article information is wrong but how much of it is on target. The consumer via the internet is getting more and more informed. I keep hearing whispers that large packers who blend foreign honey are losing shelf space to local raw honey from local beekeepers all over the country. Of course there are many factors in this demand for local honey but certainly the image of the mega beekeeper - the so called unsung hero of agriculture is looking a little tattered.
