I'm sure others on the list are more qualified than I am, but I think I can
answer this one for you.  Because you are a hobby beekeeper, you didn't
actually say how many hive you have, you can move the bees the short
distance you want.  You will loose most of your field bees, and the colonies
will be weakened, but if the hives are reasonably strong to start with,
they'll recover.  I'd suggest you feed them for two or three weeks after the
move so the remaining young bees will have a chance to mature and become
field bees.
