I'd look closely at the alignment.  I don't know the specific extractor you are using, but I'm assuming there is a sealed bearing cartrige of some kind.  If they are misaligned, or if they are overloaded (to much pressure in the mounting) they will wear quickly.  A decent machine shop (or perhaps a votech school) will be able to do this for you if you don't have the proper equipment (most of us without a decent machine shop will not).
