Does anyone have a more solidly based report of this possible connection?

This is the second time I've heard of the alleged effect, but the 2 cases cited
in this last one are not compelling. There are a lot of histories of sting
reactions quickly becoming more (or less) serious, in the absense of these
drugs. It seems to me there is a lot more at work in sting reactions, than the
conventional IgG/ IgE story. Anyone know of a model that covers these common
unconventional histories?
