I was present at this event (which was two years ago) and was
particularly interested to find out whether I could discriminate between
N. apis and N. ceranae.

I found that with my microscope equipment and my eyesight (which is
somewhat hampered by cataracts), I could not tell the the difference.
However I have talked to others that have been able to make the
distinction. so it seems it may be a combination of things like
eyesight, lighting and maybe equipment quality that governs whether it
will work for you.

I am surprised that the repeat day has received so little support, the
previous event was run on a cost sharing basis and had about 25
participants, the subjects discussed were as varied as Instrumental
insemination, mite damaging, Wing morphometry, Slide preparation, Nosema
variants, Dissection and disease recognition.

Obviously I am not trying to gather future participants from across the
pond, but I am suggesting it as a model that can be used in any country.
