Storage in alcohol is fine, but dilute it or the samples will harden.

Like Bob, we freeze everything -- the colors are better, and a freshly
thawed bee is easy to dissect.

About 10-20 minutes at room temperature after removal from the freezer
should be ideal.  Too long, and they get mushy.
